My name is Tsibiah (pronounced: sih-bye-yah) I’m a Seamstress and Designer, Owner of Beauty In The Bible LLC @ JudahMack.com
When I was 11 my mom started homeschooling me and my 3 sisters. With four kids to take care of she needed something to keep me busy after studying, so…
She took me to Joanns and bought me a pair of knitting needles and a bundle of blue yarn, I learned very quickly and soon moved on to crocheting, painting, beading, embroidery, wood burning and weaving. I was content and I was pretty busy but I didn’t feel like all those crafts were for me.
So one day I went exploring in the garage and came upon a big table like box, I opened it to find out it was a
old vintage industrial sewing machine (I didn’t know what a sewing machine was or what it did then) that belonged to my tia (aunt) It was a Necchi automatic supernova. It looked similar to this.⇓
I was instantly intrigued and so I started playing with it, making gigantic birds nest knots in the bobbin and in my opinion almost destroying it, now thinking back there were things I did with that machine as a beginner that I wouldn’t even think of doing now (poor machine). I was really frustrated but for some reason I still wanted to use this “machine thingy.”
So after watching so many sewing tutorials on YouTube, reading books and breaking my head I couldn’t break the ‘code’ for this machine. And I started disliking it.
After complaining to my mom that I just couldn’t get the Necchi sewing machine to work, she gave me her sewing machine a Brother LS 1217. Which is in my opinion is the easiest sewing machine I have ever used or sewn on I would definitely recommend it for beginners,
And then Halleluyah! All those tutorials I watched on YouTube and all those books I read suddenly made sense. I was on a sewing spree!
When I was about 14 we were called by the MH to follow his laws, commandments, and statutes, All praises!
One of the commandments for women is to have our heads covered, 1 Corinthians 11:5-6, and modest apparel, so me at that time being a beginner seamstress I got really creative in my head coverings and clothing. So after experimenting which designs would work and which ones were a total fail I started building up the courage to wear my head coverings and garments outside. Yep outside as in, not inside the house. I would get compliments and questions as to where I got my head coverings from, which inspired/motivated me to start selling my snoods Head coverings which are now available at Judahmack.com
Fast Forward to today, I have been sewing for 7 years and my sewing skills have come a long way and continue to grow. I now have a Website, Blog, You Tube Channel and Store! Where I, All Praises To TMH!, sell Head coverings and more, and sharing my sewing knowledge to help other sisters in any way I can.
Hope that we can all teach and learn from each other!
