How to measure yourself

How to measure

Measure with undergarments similar to those you will wear with your garment;

Do not measure over other clothing.

Make sure the measuring tape is parallel to the floor and pulled evenly across the body with no slack.

You may want to consider getting professionally measured.

  • SIZE CHART
  • MEASURING
Note: Please note that most if not all patterns are sized differently than ready-to-wear clothes you will find at the store. You might find yourself choosing a larger size than the size you usually wear. We strongly suggest you have your measurements taken by a professional (or just yourself, you can do it!) before buying any garment online.
All apparel can be custom made to exact measurements if you provide us with your custom sizes. If you decide to order your garment in the sizes ranges that are given on the back of the pattern envelope, your measurements may indicate one size for the “bust” and a different size for the “waist and/or hips”, we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement.
For example if it is a skirt, you don’t need your bust measurement, just your waist and hip measurement.
If it is a shirt you don’t need your hip measurement, just your bust measurement.
If it is a dress choose the largest part of your body as the measurement to determine what size to use on the pattern, for example if your bust is 34″ and your hips are 42″, go with the size on the pattern that accommodates your hips, or vise versa, if your bust is 40″ and your hips are smaller at 30″ go with the bust measurement.
